内容简介
《环境工程专业英语》是环境工程专业的学生在学习了大学的基础英语知识,并掌握了一定的专业知识的基础之上,为提高学生阅读专业科技英语文献、了解国外先进专业知识水平及动态为目的而设置的一门课程。该课程系统地学习了环境学概论、大气、水、固废、土壤等环境学理论的专业英语文章,涵盖环境要素、环境治理等多个方面。本课程以环境学概论、大气、水、固废、土壤等环境学理论的专业词汇、阅读理解、翻译为重点,将英语知识与环境学科专业知识结合起来,为后续的科研文献阅读和毕业设计/论文写作建立基础。

教学大纲说明
一、教学目的、课程性质及教学任务与其他课程的关系,所需先修课程。
本课程是环境工程专业限选课。我国对环境保护工作日益重视,可持续发展的政策逐步深入人心,国家对环保投资力度不断加大,带动了环保产业和相关空间发展。本课程反映了当前国际环境科学与工程发展的最新前沿内容和研究成果。课程任务是为提高学生阅读专业科技英语文献、了解国外先进专业知识水平及动态为以后专业课程的学习打下良好基础。需要学生先修大学英语、环境学、水污染控制工程类课程。
二、教学要求及选编教材的依据。
总的教学要求是:
能够掌握环境保护的基础知识和基本原理,较全面地了解环境科学与工程学科的内容和发展趋势。提高学生阅读与专业有关的文献和获取信息的能力,能够顺利阅读英文版环境科技读物,熟悉环境科学与工程专业英语交流表达方式。使学生具备一定的翻译能力(含英译汉、汉译英),为以后的学术交流活动打下坚实的基础,并为学生后面毕业论文的撰写提供支撑。能够多层次,多角度了解全球环境科学与工程方面的信息,把握国内外环境科技进展动态,更大程度地丰富学生的专业知识。
选用教材依据:
张颖主编的环境科学与工程专业英语是全国高等农林院校“十一五”规划教材。在内容选材上,本教材充分注重专业领域的覆盖面,不仅涉及了环境科学与工程的基本原理与方法,包括大气、水体、土壤、固体废弃物、噪声、能源以及相关的污染防治技术,同时还涵盖了生态学、可持续发展理论、环境影响评价和环境管理的相关知识。力求能体现出系统性、先进性、代表性、新颖性和实用性的特点,突出*进展,便于读者更好地掌握。注重学科交叉,力求深入浅出,除可满足课堂教学所需外,兼有提供课外阅读材料的功能。书中对课文的一些较难的句子和段落予以注释,同时对一些专业词汇和术语进行总结,使读者能更快扩展专业词汇。书后的单词表对本书中的专业词汇进行了总体编排,便于检索与记忆。
三、教学环节和教学方法。
本课程是一门专业限选课,重点讲授《环境工程专业英语》的词汇与句式。课堂教学采用任务驱动式教学,由教师确定主题内容、布置任务,由学生自主搜集资料,学习汇总,在课上由教师和其他学生提问,由学生主讲并作答。有条件时利用移动教学平台,以学习通为教学软件,由教师发布考题,学生在课后答题,加强对课程中重点、难点的掌握。
